A passerby witnessed a hit and run on Mayfield Rd. near Sonic America’s Drive-In during the late evening of July 7 that apparently left a young girl with a head injury.

Several other people called including one who said the car was heading westbound on Mayfield and northbound on Brainard. They said the car was a small grey Honda coupe with front-end damage.

They said the driver left the scene and turned off the car’s headlights.

A 13-year-old girl complained of having a head injury and was sent to Hillcrest Hospital. Police followed the woman driving the hit car back to her residence on Marsol Rd.

Her back bumper was hanging down.
