Ohio Department of Transportation will close Mayfield Rd. eastbound beginning today between SOM Center Rd. and County Line Rd. in the Village of Gates Mills for approximately 40 days for resurfacing and drainage work just east of Hillcrest Hospital's drive.

Tractor trailers will be detoured using SOM Center Rd. north, Chardon Rd. east and Chillicothe Rd. south to Mayfield Road.  All other motorists will be detoured using SOM Center Rd. north, Wilson Mills Rd. east and County Line Rd. south to Mayfield Road.

Local access to drives will be kept available at all times with median crossovers as needed. No side streets will be closed.

Crews began preparation for the 40-day closure on Saturday.
