Registration Open for Highland Heights Community Garden

Sign up today at the gazebo by City Hall.

Another registration session for the Highland Heights Community Garden will take place from 4:30-6:30 p.m. today, May 30 at the gazebo by City Hall, 5827 Highland Rd.

Those unable to attend the registration can still sign up for a plot by sending an email to hhgardenclub@hotmail.com or calling Noreen Paradise at 440-667-7564.

"They can sign up right up until the opening on June 9," Paradise said. "If they want to come and do it that day, that's fine. What's nice about coming to the registration is that we have a packet of info we give them."

Plots are 8 feet-by-8 feet and cost $18. Gardeners are required to use only natural and organic gardening practices.

The club plans to host a homegrown pizza week in August when participants will get a free pizza dough ball to use with their own tomatoes, peppers, garlic and basil.

They do good work. Hopefully, the garden will help bring people together.
