Police Blotter: Troublesome Tree Makes Parking Difficult
Information was supplied by the Mayfield Village police department
A resident requested police check on a split tree on Sandalwood Drive the day before the Fabulous 50’s Cruise Night on June 9. Two other trees hold up the tree. People parked on the hydrant side of the street. A lieutenant checked on the tree and left it alone for the evening but said the building department should be advised of the situation. A request was made of the Monday shift to call the building department and speak with the homeowner to resolve the matter soon. It was the second complaint about the tree that week.
Two suspicious males were seen in the parking garage of an apartment complex on Stratford Court and were not recognized by people at the apartments at 4:08 p.m. on June 4. One was identified as a white male in a white T-shirt and camouflage shorts. The other was identified as a black male in a blue polo shirt and jeans or possibly jean shorts. Management said they don’t want them back on the property. Police advised that they will be charged with criminal trespassing if they return.
A 1957 Chevy Bel Air was reportedly sideswiped on its right side at the Yours Truly parking lot before Fabulous 50’s Cruise Night at 7:20 a.m. on June 10. The right-side fender, door and quarter panel were damaged. A witness saw a gray BMW SUV hit the vehicle and told the female driver they just hit a car. When the witness told the driver she needed to wait for police, she took off.
