Police Blotter: Store, Officers Stop Thieves
Information supplied by the Highland Heights Police Department
Kohl’s Department Store security and Highland Heights Police combined to prevent a man and woman from completing a theft at the store the afternoon of July 7.
The store’s security was attempting to catch the man they thought might be armed. The man wore tan pants, a black hat and a white-striped shirt.
Police caught up to the man and arrested him behind Denny’s Restaurant and also took a woman in custody and routed her to the store’s security office.
The man was taken to the Highland Heights police station.
Man attempts to enter house: A Radford Dr. resident said a man kept coming to her house and was trying to get her to let him in the place on July 9. The man went on her back deck and banged on the window to get her attention. An officer learned he’s a neighbor on the street and has dementia. The man’s wife came to pick him up and take him home.
More happening at Kohl’s: An employee had two young boys in custody for shoplifting at Kohl’s Department Store on Wilson Mills Rd. the afternoon of July 11.
Yup, Kohl’s again: A fire broke out in the back area of the BP Gas Station and Kohl’s Department Store in the late afternoon on July 11. It turned out to be a mulch fire that was put out.
