Police Blotter: Scrap Scavenger Comes Across Stolen Jewelry

A caller at 8:56 p.m. April 22 said he was searching for scrap metal in a trash bin behind on Wilson Mills Road and found coins and jewelry that possibly belong to a Willowick resident. Willowick police did not get any calls about a burglary at that address. They checked the home and no one was there and a back window was open. The resident's son was called to see what was missing and Willowick police came to get the property.
A Belwood Road woman called at 11:45 a.m. April 24 and said her daughter hit her and stole her car, a black 1999 Lexus. Police searched for the woman and the car, but were unable to find either.
A disturbance was reported at 8:25 p.m. April 23 on Ford Road, where a man was demanding a court order from a person trying to repossess a 2001 Ford Mustang. Police said the car was in the garage and the owner was not giving it up. The repossession company said it would try another time.
A tree fell across Blair Drive between Rutland and Sturbridge on April 23. Police said the tree came from a backyard on Sturbridge and was rotted at the base. There was no damage except for some shrubs that were hit when the tree fell.
Richmond Heights police called at 8:39 p.m. April 22 to report that officers were with a person whose car hit a deer on Highland Road in Highland Heights. The driver wasn't hurt and the deer was injured, but still alive. A resident wanted an officer to put the animal down.
