Police Blotter: Girl Shoots Man in Face

A Woodhurst Ave. resident said a 16-year-old girl shot him in the face with an airsoft gun on Ridgebury Rd. leaving a bruise near his eye in the late evening of June 21. Police spoke with the girl’s stepfather who said he would speak to her went she got home. Neither party wanted to pursue the matter.

Neighborly feud: Two neighbors on Crestwood Rd. are having a hard time getting along with each other. A man accused his neighbor, a woman, of opening his mail the evening of June 19. Officers told both parties to stay away from each other. Although no report was filed, police noted this has been an ongoing problem between them.

Keys stolen: A woman at Five Guys Burgers thought her keys might have been taken by a man she struck up a conversation with at the restaurant in the late evening of June 19. A store employee checked the tape and said an elderly woman grabbed the keys off the counter and put them in her purse. The employee didn’t recognize the elderly woman.

Father calls out son: After leaving Giant Eagle, a father called to report his son causing a disturbance at a neighbor’s residence on Commonwealth Ave. the evening of June 19. Police told the son to stay out of that home’s yard.

Dead woman found: Police found a woman dead in a bathroom on Fairhaven Rd. on the morning of June 20. Officials said the 36-year-old woman fell face-first off a toilet and was unresponsive.

Truck swipes woman: A blue truck hit a woman and left as she was leaving Walgreens on Mayfield Rd. the morning of June 21. The woman was uninjured. Police couldn’t locate the truck, and the woman didn’t have further information.

Possible theft from car: A Hamilton House Apartments resident said $200 had been stolen from his car on June 21. The man declined to make a report but thought another car might have been broken into at the complex. Police alerted the other resident who checked his car and said nothing valuable appeared to be missing.

Caught stealing: Walmart security caught an argumentative man stealing nearly $200 in merchandise the afternoon of June 21.

Phony purchase: A Best Buy employee said a woman attempted to purchase two cellphones with a false ID the evening of June 22. She was attempting to get five phone lines on one account.

Arrest: Police found a man passed out at the wheel of his vehicle at the True North gas station on Mayfield in the early morning of June 23. The driver had arrest warrants out in Beachwood, North Olmsted and Linndale. Beachwood police took the man into custody.

Accident, DUI: A woman was involved in a two-car accident at the Golden Gate Blvd. and Mayfield Rd. intersection and cited for a DUI. Her blood alcohol level was .08. Neither driver was injured.
