Panera Drive-Through Scheduled for Spring
Panera Bread chose Mayfield Road as the location for the areas first drive-through.
A representative for Panera Bread confirmed that the current cafe at Golden Gate Plaza will relocate to a new-construction building that will contain a drive-through in late May.
“We are relocating to the freestanding building in Mayfield Heights to provide a drive-through to the East Side of Cleveland. We currently have three drive-through cafe's in the region in Alliance, North Ridgeville and Warren,” the representative confirmed in a phone interview with Patch.
The future Mayfield Road location will offer the same menu as the other locations and all items on the menu will be available for pick-up at the drive-through window.
Further, the representative confirmed that the staff at Golden Gate Plaza will be taken along in the move, and more staff may be added to cover the window service.
Director of Mayfield Heights Building Department Thomas Jamieson said Panera will raze the current building at 6030 Mayfield Road, former home of El Rodeo Mexican Restaurant.
He said that Panera's current plans are to build a 4,000 square foot building. Panera, the national chain of bread and bakery based cafes, has yet to indicate complete construction plans, however they have begun to bring in equipment to demolish the building on the future site.
“The will begin the demolishing any day now,” said Jamieson. “Everyone is excited around here. Especially when something like this is brought to fruition.”
