Mayfield Village Cruises Into Fun for All Ages
Horsepower and hula hoops - it's back to the '50s in Mayfield Village's annual cruise
People may have gotten their kicks on Route 66, but SOM Center and Wilson Mills was the place to be Saturday evening. Cars, food, bands, people having fun... and more cars was the theme.
The cruise-in was the brainchild of Jeff Shibley of Yours Truly and the mayor of Mayfield Village in 1989. Shibley says he remembers how they sat down in one of the booths and talked about an activity that would bring people to the community. The first cruise was born and has been a success ever since.
This year the weather was perfect as the thousands of people revisited the 50's themed night.
