Parties are a great place for photos and Mayfield Heights had plenty in 2011. The city's Easter egg hunt, pancake breakfasts and camp out in the park were all subjects of photo galleries.

There also was the city's big event – the Community Unity Days Festival – which offered so many photo opportunities that it was split into two galleries.

Other events not sponsored by the city included an animal Halloween costume contest at PetSmart and a benefit carnival at the Gates Mills Club.

Newsworthy photo events this year included the farewell ride of retiring Fire Chief Michael Forte and the unveiling of the new rain garden in front of city hall.
