Nearly 200 Mayfield-Hillcrest area residents contributed to presidential candidates in this election cycle, with the majority coming from Gates Mills Village.

Public records show that most of the 110 Gates Mills contributions went to the Romney campaign. Entrepreneur Michael R. Shaughnessy donated the largest amount — two contributions totaling $9,000.

In Mayfield Heights, 37 of 45 contributions went to President Barack Obama's campaign. Still, the largest in that city went to Romney — $2,500 by both Moreland Management Co. investor Richard A. Horvitz and Nesco Inc. Chairman Robert J. Tomsich. The largest Obama donation in the city, $1,000, came from Jacqueline Scotese, a special education assistant at Beachwood Schools.

Contractor Nacy A. Panzica and CPA Thomas P. Rudibaugh, both of Highland Heights, contributed $2,500 and $1,000 to Romney, respecitvely.

The information in the database was downloaded from the Federal Election Commission’s website. The data is based on quarterly reports, and is current through July. The data will be updated in mid-October.
