5 Things You Should Know For This Week
A big meeting and plenty of recreational events dot the calendar
1. Highland Heights City Council regular meeting, 8 p.m., Tuesday: City council is expected to vote and put the GetGo/Shoppes at Brainard Crossing project on the November ballot.
2. Rain Barrel Workshop, Registration, Today: The Euclid Creek Watershed Rain Barrel Workshop’s final day of registration is today. Learn how to harvest rain water for your garden and other needs. The event will be held at the DeJohn Community Center. Click here for more information.
3. Fourth Annual Car Show, 6:30-9 p.m., Thursday: This event will be held at the DeJohn Community Center. It also features a concert by Ricky & The Rockets and the movie “Cars 2” at dusk.
4. Swing Era Band, 7-9 p.m., Thursday: Music from the swing era’s heyday during World War II will be played at the Gazebo. Parking is available at Center School and the Mayfield Village Civic Center.
5. Gates Mills Library book sale, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday: The sale will be open to Friends of the Gates Mills Library sponsors and life members from 4-8 p.m. Friday. It's open to the general public from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
